Every analyst and every pundit believes that their comments are credible, otherwise they wouldn't be saying them. Although we may not agree with their analysis on most occassions, there are times when we can agree. It is time for some of you to wake up to reality, and stop complaining when someone posts things you don't like.
Clearly there's no chance that Karl Rove has an ulterior motive when he's giving "analysis" (read: concern-trolling) on Fox News.
given how close the two candidates are in popular votes.
Many feel that Hillary would be ahead in electoral votes which is what it would take to win in Nov.
So, she quite possibly would be by far the stronger candidate.
Now convert that feeling to delegates, and you'd be in the running for the nomination. The arguments are interesting and she can stay in until she's ready, but her staff are saying it's over.
at all.
riiiight. And "some say" that they're wrong.
Among states where either Democrat polls within 5-points head-to-head vs. McCain (aka "Swing States")...
Clinton does better in head-to-head polling in Arkansas (6), Florida (27), Missouri (11), New Hampshire (4), Ohio (20), Pennsylvania (21), and West Virginia (5). That's 93 EVs.
Obama does better in Colorado (9), Connecticut (7), Hawaii (4), Iowa (7), Indiana (11), Maine (4), Michigan (17), Minnesota (10), North Dakota (3), New Mexico (5), Nevada (5), Oregon (7), Virginia (13), Washington (11), and Wisconsin (10). That's 123 EVs.
If you're willing to stay with facts rather than what "many feel," I'm happy to discuss the realities of their strengths in the electoral college, all day today and twice tomorrow.
Maybe you could show me the part in the DNC rules that deals with the popular vote. Clinton said that it was a delegate battle. They could be wrong though. So how about a citation...
seems there isn't a rule for that, seems that the state certification is what the party uses, no penalty clause there. Seems Howie kept that part quiet. Seems she's been ahead in the popular certified vote most of this, with the exception of the one week between SC and WV. Seems that nearly half of those who took this poll think WV doesn't matter. That will seem to the super's as an elitist and losing argument. Seems they might find out.
I'm sorry. A simple citation to the DNC rules that says it's a popular vote race would assist me greatly in this conversation.
Seems there aint one. ;)
Riiiight.
If Rove said this about Hillary, would he be as credible as you're making him out to be?
It is time for some of you to wake up to reality
Terrific comment coming from you, steve...I really do need more irony in my diet.
Irony builds strong muscles!
Don't really agree with the post substantively, since analysts often have ulterior motives for what they say and there's an obvious one here (Republican lackey wants to undermine presumptive Democratic nominee), but this comment doesn't deserve to be troll rated. Uprated accordingly.
