Charles Rangel - not a Shrinking Violet when it comes to picking on Bush - following that fop Chavez aping in New York and insulting the current United States President, was eloquent.

WASHINGTON - I want to express my extreme displeasure with statements by the President of Venezuela attacking U.S. President George Bush in such a personal and disparaging way during his remarks at the United Nations General Assembly.

It  should be clear to all heads of government that criticism of Bush Administration policies, either domestic or foreign, does not entitle them to attack the President personally.

George Bush is the President of the United States and represents the entire country. Any demeaning public attack against him is viewed by Republicans and Democrats, and all Americans, as an attack on all of us.

This was the formal statement, what he said in the media was even more fun to watch.

<extremely interpretive-sic>"This is my family, asshole, and I am allowed to pick on it all I want. But come into my house and insult my relatives and I'll gut you like a fish."

So, yeah.  We can beat each other up inside the party.  We can beat each other up inside the country.  That's just good family interaction.

But in the end, we are united against those who will come into our house and f*ck with our family adversaries...
