Make Us A Whole Party ... Not A Partial Party

The DNC Chairman race has narrowed to three persons for DNC Chair and basically three sets of choices as shown above. It's that simple.

The one central question the blogosphere and the 447 DNC Delegates should be asking at this time is: Who best can make us the MOST WHOLE PARTY and eventually the MOST WHOLE COUNTRY?

Dean? -- Rosenberg? -- Frost?

Left? -- Center? -- Right?
OR
Liberal? -- Moderate / Pragmatic? -- Conservative?

Extreme Democrat? -- Moderate / Independent? --Extreme Repunlican?

Blue Minded -- Open Minded -- Red Minded
OR
The Simple Have's -- The Have's -- The Greedy Have's

The one central question the blogosphere and the 447 DNC Delegates should be asking at this time is: Who best can make us the MOST WHOLE PARTY and eventually the MOST WHOLE COUNTRY?

Is it Howard Dean? I think not. The 2004 Primary Election Cycle shows that. He lost because he wanted TOO MUCH REFORM. The DEMOCRATIC AND INDEPENDENT voters did not buy into that and I do not thing the DNC Delegates will either. Howard Dean is more of a power consolidator than a power sharer. Being a power sharer is the true hallmark of a good leader. He will never unite the Centrists Democrats and the Conservative Democrats.

Is it Martin Frost? I think not. He is TOO CONSERVATIVE AS A DEMOCRAT. Why in the heck did Martin Frost try to buddy up to George Bush and the Republicans in the last election he lost? That is unforgivable and shows his true character as a person and his lacl of loyalty to the Democratic Party. He will never unite the Centrists Democrats and the Liberal Democrats.

Is it Simon Rosenberg? I think so. And while we love all fellow Democrats, Simon is the one guy who can bring all the parts of the party together. He, as Bill Clinton can attest to, knows that the smart strategy to win races is to lead from the middle. Call him a Centrist or New Democrat if you must. But he will be the uniter to make us a WHOLE PARTY and help bridge the gap in all fractions of our Party.

If you wish to compare the wit/brainpower/strategic wisdom of Simon Rosenberg to somebody ... look no further than Barack Obama. Barack will be President one day for one simple reason ... his ability to make us a WHOLE PARTY and a WHOLE COUNTRY united for all of our common good.

I am proud to have supported Barack Obama and I am proud to support Simon Rosenberg.

You see my reasoning for supporting Simon ... let me hear from you why I or other DNC Delegates should think otherwise.

The main issue is who can get more votes in the districts we currently lose. Its not like Californnia is going republican any time soon. That is unless they republicans can find action figures for every single position.

If there is one candidate that you mention who is inclusive it is Dean.

Rosenberg has spent the past decade being as EXCLUSIVE and narrowly focussed on the right wing of the Democratic party...Rosenberg has spent a decade, weeding out and vetting any Democrat that did not conform to the DLC vision of a Democrat which is weak willed and impotent.

Rosenberg even makes candidates fill out a questionaires and then interviews them vigorously ...mustn't let in any libruls...

Rosenberg has cozied up to the corporations (EVEN KNOWN NEO-CON CORPORATIONS LIKE KOCH INDUSTRIES) so that in his words "he could free Democratic candidates from the "traditional" issues of the Democratic party" and whore them to corporate issues instead.

What effect has this had...well just turn on C-Span any given day and you will see the by-product of the Rosenberg and the DLC tuteledge as our illustrious dEMOCRATS roll over and play dead for the whole world to see.

Rosenberg is a divider and has only worked with the right-wing of the the Democratic party whereas Dean has worked with every one...

Dean and DFA supported Daschel and Salazar as well as Obama and Jackson. Rosenberg has NEVER REACHED OUT TO THE "Democratic wing of the Democratic Party".

You may have supported Obama but Rosenberg and NDN did NOT the only African American candidates Rosenberg would support thru NDN were verifiable DLC members...that was as far as Rosenberg's African American outreach...reached.

So perhaps you should better inform yourself before talking about what Dean is or isn't or didn't you see that Mississippi, Oklahoma and Utah endorsed Dean yesterday along with the entire DNC board of Florida...not bad for a "librul".

Oklahoma is the most telling since Rosenberg and the NDN drop a pretty penny trying to bolster yet another DINO candidate Carson...I guess Oklahoma would rather try with the real thing in Dean...a true Blue Democrat.

Besides telling us how to live, think, marry, pray, vote, invest, educate our children and, die, the GOP has done a fine job of getting gov't out of our lives.

Seriously though, bro, I don't know why you're trying so hard to flame Rosenberg (or the DLC, who I don't particularly like either) for that matter. At the end of the day we are all going to have to rally behind whomever becomes the DNC leader, whether that be Simon, Howard, or even Martin...

Who says we have to rally behind whomever? I'm ready to walk out the door with my body, my vote and my contribution. Rosenberg may be a reform candidate and he may be a Third Wave type of DLC mole. The DLC is a group of corrupt apparatchiks that have forfeited their right to control the power levers of the DNC.

Bob Shrum has accepted the "seven strikes and you're out rule" and so should the rest of the DLC, including Rosenberg. His "reform" platform may be sincere, but his reform credentials are weak.

There is a considerable minority of "no more ATM" democrats who are also ready to walk. If the DLC takes us for granted they will lose far more blue state voters than they will every pick up in the red states. I'm sick and tired of the sensible centrist approach and Democratic Dad's appeal to party unity is unacceptable.

I will not compromise with the DLC Fainthearted Faction on Social Security. I will not compromise with Frost and Roemer on creationism and red state values. I will not compromise with Diane Feinstein or Joe Lieberman or Tim Roemer on support for the war in Iraq or support for Condi Rice.

Screw compromise and screw the DLC. And I will be in Sacramento this weekend.

Then you can go now, because in politics you're always going to have to work with/for people you don't like or completely agree with and you're going to have to make comprimises to push foward your agenda.

If you'd really turn your back on the party if Rosenberg was elected to chain the DNC, than it is you and not he that is part of the "fainthearted faction". At least, I would say, if you walk away without giving the guy a chance. If Rosneberg turns out to be just shit-talkin, and pushes the party further towards corporations (teh exact opposite of what he said he'll do) than I'll walk out with ya.

Let me put it another way (none / 0)

It's time for the DLC to move to the back of the bus and time for the Black Congressional Caucus to move to the front of the bus. I'd support Maxine Waters or Charlie Rangel before I'd support Roemer or Frost.

Rosenberg and Fowler are trying the sensible centrist approach that is just DLC light. No more compromise on principle.

Let me explain.

The corporate contributors donate huge amounts of money, and expect access and solicitation as a result. No one, but no one on the DLC or Establishment side questions the validity of that. Nor do they question that if they don't pander to them, the money stops. All the whiny defenses of TerryMac begin and end with this assumption.

Well, this last go round, small donors were a large % of the total money pulled. I would bet that the total from former Dean and Clark supporters well surpassed entire sectors of business.

Guess what? We are acting in exactly the same manner as all the fat cats. We ponied up, now we want access and solicitation. And we can just as easily walk if we don't get it.

And that's just as valid an action and assumption as it is on the corporate/rich guy donations. Frost or Roemer = no more money. That simple.

Who here respects Honest Abe? Who thought he was a good man in a tough position who did his best? Was he also a uniter? Heck no! He was fatally divisive. Gimmicks don't prevent Civil Wars.
