I believe John Kerry is not in favor of Howard Dean being the DNC Chair. See the actual words Kerry spoke today on NBC's Meet The Press.

Kerry ... like many of the Democratic Party faithful realize we need more of a Modernizer like Simon Rosenberg than a devisive Spokesman like Howard Dean.

MR. RUSSERT: During the campaign you said that Howard Dean did not have the credibility or judgment to be president. Do you believe he has the credibility or judgment to be chairman of the Democratic National Committee?

SEN. KERRY: Sure, absolutely.

SEN. KERRY: Sure, absolutely.

MR. RUSSERT: Do you support him?

SEN. KERRY: I think Howard Dean proved during this campaign that he was really a loyal and go-to person. He campaigned his heart out for me. He wanted us to win. And I'm very grateful to him for that--as did every other member who's running, incidentally--every other person running for the chairmanship. They worked hard. They're capable people and I think any one of them would be able to lead our party and be helpful.

And, you know, we're not looking for a spokesperson in the chairmanship. I think if you talk to any of my colleagues or any people in the House or Senate or others, what we're looking for is somebody who's going to help the party modernize and do the things we need to do in order to be able to technically, organizationally, structurally be able to catch up to the Republicans. We're behind.

And I think that--you know, if you figure--I mean, Karl Rove really had six years to prepare for Election Day. We in many ways had only a few months, notwithstanding the outstanding work that Terry McAuliffe did, but Terry McAuliffe was struggling uphill. We didn't have a president, we didn't have a House, we didn't have a Senate. He did an amazing job of raising money, getting voter lists, putting the committee in the best position possible. But he'd be the first to tell you, we still have a distance to travel in order to catch up. And I think whoever is chosen as our new chairman, we're going to have a united Democratic Party that is working overtime to put those pieces in place.

Wrong to Attribute Anti-Dean Sentiment to Kerry (none / 0)

You read in things that weren't there. You were wrong to put words into Senator Kerry's mouth and your headline is unsupported by what really was said.

Your objectivity would have been less in doubt if you'd included in your diary the very next question that Russert asked Kerry:

MR. RUSSERT: Some Democrats and many Republicans believe that Howard Dean is too liberal to be chairman of the Democratic Party. Do you agree?

SEN. KERRY: No, I don't agree with that. I think, in fact, if you look at Howard's record as a governor, he was a strong balance-the-budget governor. He was conservative on a lot of issues. And I think that's part of what happens in campaigns. You get these stamps and broad brushes that aren't exactly accurate.

Yeah... this diary is an excellent example of getting brushed with inaccuracy.

Put Dean as the front man and have Rosenberg be the nuts and bolts man? I'm tired of you good people (I'm being sincere) wasting time on this issue when we have six-billion mouths to feed.

Do you realize that 1% growth in population will add close to a billion people per decade? Folks... we are on a collision course here.

Did Tim Russert ask Kerry about overpopulation?

Did Kerry interject and say "now wait a minute Tim. You're asking me about Howard Dean when were going to add a billion humans to this earth in the next decade."

Hell NO!

Please Please Please let us address real issues, not issues of procedure.

Yes, there are real issues that need addressing but... we will not be able to solve the real problems if we do not have a strong and efficient process in place ahead of time. We can bounce from urgent issue to urgent issue and waste the majority of our time and energy reinventing the wheel if we do not address process first.

I Think You Suck As A Writer (none / 0)

Because you put words in the mouth of your subject and then use that as title for divisive and unenlightening purposes. You see I actually think you suck as a writer and I said so, so you can tell other people, "Jumbo thinks I suck as a writer" because it's true. But unless John Kerry said something anywhere close to "I think Dean would suck as DNC chair" you can't assert in your title that "Kerry thinks Dean would suck as DNC Chair" because it's just not true. You should write stuff that's obviously not true as your title. It's one of the rules of writing. Which you broke. Which just goes to prove my thesis that you suck at writing.

Sorry Democratic Dad but it's true. If anything, Kerry sounded like he supported Dean durring the interview. Personally, I think Kerry isn't taking sides in the DNC race, nor does he care that much. I could be wrong but I highly doubt he that he against Dean.

Hey, I am absolutely against Dean becoming the next DNC Chair. I would love for your comment(s) to be correct. However, your thoughts about Kerry's comments were not correct.

Diaries like yours, unfortunately, lend credit to Rothenberg's recent op-ed about the blogosphere.

I think it's a good day for some:

Chili
2      lbs ground beef
1 (29 ounces) can tomato sauce
1 (29 ounces) can kidney beans (w/liquid)
1 (29 ounces) can pinto beans (w/liquid)
1     medium onions, diced
2     green chili peppers, diced
1     stalk celery, diced
3     medium tomatoes, chopped
2     teaspoons cumin powder
3     tablespoons chili powder
1 1/2     teaspoons black pepper
2     teaspoons salt
2     cups water
10 servings
1. Brown the beef and drain the fat off.
2. Crumble the cooked beef into pea size pieces.
3. In a large pot, combine the beef plus the remaining ingredients and bring to a simmer over low heat.
4. Cook stirring every 15 minutes for 2-3 hours.
